Don't Know Much About Biology

It's Dylan's fifteenth birthday tomorrow.
We're redecorating his bedroom next week and I've found this wonderful vintage French classroom poster for him. It's huge. These photos don't really do it justice but I'm sure it will look stunning once it's hanging on his wall.

Let's Count

A lovely link for those of you who enjoying making your own toys.

I particularly like these counting sets, but there are lots of other fun projects to try.

Dig & Delve

Dig & deleve, search high & low.
My Little Paris and Zoe de las Cases have teamed up to bring you a fun competition to find the best vintage photomaton pics. You know, the awkward and peculiar ones that make you cringe, hiding in the bottom of a drawer somewhere.

The quest is on to find the most amusing, most unusual and most striking photos. Zoe will publish her favourites on her blog and use a selection to make a video similar to this. Three lucky winners will be able to keep their picture customised by the brilliant French designer of worldwide renown.

So, what are you waiting for? Look for your very best photomaton pics, scan them and send them to Zoe at this address: phototrouvee@zoedelascases.com

 Bonne chance !

Today
We are pottering,
Stripping paint, decorating, rearranging,
Again.
The house is a mess -
Sens dessus dessous
But we are happy,
Enjoying the sunshine,
And the simple pleasures of life.

Bear in Red Pants

Charley couldn't resist the call of the city. He left his home in the wilderness, moved uptown and bought himself a pair of shiny red pants. He's never looked back since.

Jessica Quinn, one of my favourite textile artists, has re-opened her etsy shop.
Take a peek at her new creatures, brooches and art cards.
Quite unique!

See Saw Margery Daw

See Saw Margery Daw,
Johnny shall have a new master;
Johnny shall earn but a penny a day,
Because he can't work any faster

One of my favourite nursery rhymes when I was a little girl.
And how I used to love going to play on the see saw in Ilkley park too.
What fun having your own 60's see saw for play inside or out.

pssstt

Another cool address for vintage lovers.

Porcelain Planes

Good Morning!
Blue skies and sunshine here.
Perfect weather for a spot of gardening, a bike ride and painting shutters.

Let's get the day off to a flying start here with this wonderful porcelain plane by Czech designer Daniel Pirsc. If you like planes, you'll love his 3D porcelain wallpaper too.

Slow Childhood

I'm really looking forward to reading the second issue of Australian online magazine, Tiny & Little, coming out on May 1st.
Based on the theme of slow childhood, with a focus on boys, I'm sure it's going to be beautiful.

E for Emmaus

Glorious sunshine, a quick trip to Ikea and then an hour rummaging at Emmaus.
I found some beautiful vintage clothes for Savannah and I, a black straw hat and this fun French  paper craft book from the 60's. Very K&C, n'est-ce pas?

Best Foot Forward
