#FF - Feel-Good Friday

What can I say?
Sharma hats, earwarmers and headbands - you're bound to get a few stares wearing one of these amazing handmade creations by Irata Too, but what a fantastic way to stand out from the crowd!

Dare I don those pom-poms for the school run? Not sure about that, but I can easily imagine a colourful headdress hanging on a wall somewhere in our home.

Tribal fun for play & display

Happy Feel-Good Friday!

High Five #39

 Back to school next week!
My three children are well past the kindergarten stage and certainly never had access to good-looking furniture like this!

Simple, smart, and colourful, I love this nursery school furniture by

Chain Reaction

Inevitably, one good thing leads to another...

How can I talk about Freida Mellama without mentioning FreidaMaria, her collaborative concept / styling /photography project with Margo Weijer?

Many of you will already be familiar with the creative duo's feel-good "vive la fête"  book and will have admired their styling work in magazines.

Frieda and Margo now have separate websites and today I would like to share some of the latter's beautiful textile designs for children and the home.

You can buy these handembroidered cushions from Margo's webshop and perhaps send her an email if anything else catches your eye. I love her necklaces and tees too, so take your time, and have a good look round - a hidden gem for sure!

Inspiration: Lab 71

I fell into the creative world of Frieda Mellama yesterday

and was happy to sit there, quietly, for a while,

or longer,

admiring all the beauty,

 the styling,

the product design,

 the photography...

Yes, it's hard to pull yourself away.

High Five #38

High Five for these quirky, colourful wooden toys designed by Juan Alonso and Susana Aparicio, the creative duo behind the Watermeloncat company.

For play and display, I do love a nice balancing toy!

Shop Update

Please bear with me.
I am working on a big shop update.
Slowly but surely I am filling those virtual shelves.
The colour-in-house posters and baby books will be back in stock shortly, please send me an email if you would like to pre-order (they sell out very quickly).

Have a great weekend!

High Five #37

I have already featured Czech eco-toy maker Unlimited Design this year, in fact their flat-pack tents are a personal fave. I like to keep an eye on small up-and-coming brands like this, and have to say, I'm rarely disappointed.

Made from sturdy, corrugated, recyclable cardboard Unlimited Design's new products are both ecological and pleasing to the eye. The white paper surfaces can be painted and decorated to match your child's bedroom / play space, and the toys also double up as a fun craft activity, particularly in the case of the dolls
I'm sure many a little boy, and mum, would love to play with then display their car collection on a wall like that too...

I like them white with just a touch of colour, but that's me in my mid-life, minimalist home phase...

The Czech handmade market FLER is full of wonderful finds but I've had trouble signing up for membership in the past. Anyone else had this problem?

 Love!
