Festive Summer

Bonjour!

This morning's post is an invitation to explore the fun illustrations of Hungarian-born graphic designer Anna Kövecses. I happened upon her Festive Summer artwork on Behance yesterday and was delighted to discover her rich, colourful portfolio. Anna lives in Cyprus and I think the sun shines through her art. Love!

Sit down for five minutes and have a good look at her work. I love these keyframes from her Cars animation and re-imagined book cover for Murakami's Wind Up Bird Chronicle. Do you have a favourite?

Shop Watch: Itis Edition

Taiwanese illustrator / graphic designer Yihsin Wu has an amazing eye for colour and pattern. Not only is she a successful freelance illustrator and printmaker, she also runs what looks to me to be vintage /design book heaven - Itis Edition, selling printed matter and more...

Now, I can't honestly see myself flying to Taipei anytime soon, but I have enjoyed browsing her inspiring blog and her online shop is definitely my kinda place!

Thanks to Wollies for the link!

Oh, by the way, there are lots more vintage / design / art links on my Tumblr if you care to take a peek...

Thibaud Herem

I came across Thibaud Herem's bird poster again the other day and decided to browse this London-based French illustrator/graphic designer's website. I've already mentioned my love of collections, here and here, and Herem's birds, fishes and insects are no exception. Take his bird illustrations, available in poster, card and book form, for instance.

Mais, ce n'est pas tout - There's more to Herem than first meets the eye... When I started delving I realised that this French graphic designer also has a talent for producing clean, simple and effective work like this

Nice, n'est-ce pas? Oodles and oodles of talent!
If you are interested in buying any of Thibaud's work you can contact him via his site. One to watch out for me thinks!
