High Five #72 - Home

What a busy month May has been. I seem to have been on the go for weeks, travelling twice to the UK then on to Berlin for The Hive conference. As much as I enjoy a change of scenery, it's nice to be home, especially now that the school year is almost over and the sun has decided to come out.

A week off blogging has done me the world of good. I needed time to reflect, time to take stock of all I have accomplished over the past four years, and to really think about what I want to do next. That's healthy and positive, I think.

So, rested and refreshed, I'm home. Back in our small, arty village in the South of France, where everything seems so lush. I have a fresh eye, and I'm eager to share the million and one beautiful things I am lucky to see each day.

I've got lots of new ideas, a few side projects to explore and Summer is hopefully here at last. La vie est belle - oh yeah!

Should've Been A Shaker

A late start this morning.
I've been sorting out, so much stuff, trying to clear my mind a bit.

Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful
William Morris

Farewell

Farewell Sweet Summer!
You come and go so quickly
But thanks again for all the wonderful moments that we shared.

A is for Alpine

Day two
From bulls to cows...
Dylan thinks he's in Mountain Bike Heaven
I am enjoying the views
And the fresh alpine air
Looks like the sun has his hat on
For good.

Colour My Monday #23

Bonjour!

I thought we'd kick off with some colour from La Petite Camargue this week
It's party time here in the South of France, all our local villages are bedecked with handpainted banners and flags ready for the Fête Votive (which often involves the traditional bull race through the village). The decorations in Aigues-Vives (above), made by school children and local artists, are always worth seeing.

Happy Monday!

Let's Dance

If you follow me on Twitter you will know that Miles & Savannah go to Hip-Hop classes.
It was their first time on stage last night, and they both did so well.
I'm very proud of them and can't believe how fast they're growing up.
Make the most of every second!

Today #6

Today,
Was a special day, kind of.
Woke up to scorching sun,
The garden parched, already.

Had planned a girls' day out
Just down the road, in Nîmes.
Busy, hot and festive,
It never disappoints.

So old,
So imposing,
And with so many stories to tell.
