Festive Summer

Bonjour!

This morning's post is an invitation to explore the fun illustrations of Hungarian-born graphic designer Anna Kövecses. I happened upon her Festive Summer artwork on Behance yesterday and was delighted to discover her rich, colourful portfolio. Anna lives in Cyprus and I think the sun shines through her art. Love!

Sit down for five minutes and have a good look at her work. I love these keyframes from her Cars animation and re-imagined book cover for Murakami's Wind Up Bird Chronicle. Do you have a favourite?

Dans L'Olivette

We've been in the olive grove behind our house tonight.
Andrée, our lovely neighbour, has been picking thyme,
Miles started collecting pine cones
But was too tired to carry them home.
We found a bothy,
Then the sun went down.

Rise & Shine

 Bonjour !

Slow, lazy mornings,
Breakfast in bed (my mum's over!)
Cuddles with the kids,
Making sheet tents,
A dip in the pool - for the bravest
(The sun is shining today),
A quick shower,
Another coffee,
And I'm yours...

School Run #3

The last day before Savannah and Miles break up,
& my last school run post for a while.
It's so hot here,
Too hot to do anything,
Save listen to the cicadas.

First B/W photo by Jean Jacques Moles
His work is on display all over our village at the moment
Love!

I am Sailing

Well, we don't have a boat our own yet but Mr. B has finally got round to obtaining his boat licence so it looks like we'll be spending quite a lot of time out at sea this Summer...

Vive les vacances !

Avignon

It's festival time in Avignon at the moment. It's hot and crowded but there's an amazing atmosphere with actors and plays on every street corner. Avignon is one of the reasons why I chose to live in the South of France. I love it!
