Two. Six Studio

Well, I don't know about you, but after all that rain yesterday, I'm ready for a blast of colour.

Fledgling Portuguese design studio Two. Six offer an inspiring range of modular, customizable furniture for kids and the home, including this YPSY Stair, a modern take on the traditional ladder which also exists in a mini-version for kids, and Strap, a bright bookcase that can double up as a room divider. Functional and fun, one to keep an eye on me thinks!

Inspiration: PlyPlay

Big Tilt

As many of you probably already know, I contribute to the DIY Crafts & Design blog Handmade Charlotte twice a week. In my post about kids' rockers yesterday I mentioned the US toy company PlyPlay.

I love their Big and Mini Tilt rocker designs, inspired by Creative Playthings' iconic hobby horse made in the 50's, but am equally drawn to their simplistic A-Frame Doll's House, which complements my Minimal Living post last week.

  Spin Car

Have a look at their other toys and playhouses if you're into plywood and modern toy design. I'll for one will be following PlyPlay from now on!

High Five #67

I've written about Z lesa's craft blog several times and I'm pleased to say that we have a couple of Jana's posters at home. This really is a gem of a site, you're sure to find something new. Jana is prolific, inventive and hardworking; I love her fresh, playful illustrations always modern and a little different.

Five Faves #72

Kari Anne Marstein has been busy making some more pretty handpainted eggs for Easter. She's just opened an etsy shop too, so don't hang around, these little cuties sell out fast!

After a long, relaxing weekend with my family, I'm feeling rested and raring to go.
I have lots of new things to share with you this week, including a spring shopupdate, so please keep your eyes peeled for that!

Three days offline and my private pinterest boards are full of interesting finds. Time to get back in the saddle then...

Did you see my recent post for Handmade Charlotte? I love Yumiko Froehlich's simple paper finger puppets:

I just know Nancy Nicholson is going to be full of surprises in 2013. I loved her sewing kits and Christmas decorations last year, and now she's introducing a new line of prints and posters, starting with this colourful happy pigeon available in A3 and A2 size for £14 and £20 respectively.

I discovered Emma Wilson's beautiful modern home in Sidi Kanouki, Morocco in the latest issue of Côte Sud magazine. Emma runs two businesses, Castles in The Sand (swoon!) and Beldirugs, both of which make me want to just pack my bags and fly off to warmer southern climes. Spend a moment or two browsing her selection of antique Moroccan Boucherouite, Beni Ouarain, Boujad and Azilal rugs, all so special and perfect for adding a striking touch of rich colour to your home.

They're not particularly new, but I never tire of kites.
Simple, colourful and poetic, Fredericks and Mae these are lovely, thank you.
What an amazing decorative feature for a child's room, don't you think?

Again not new, but Claire Grill's samplers are all so beautiful I think, and I have An Ambitious Project Collapsing to thank for this find.

Last but not least (yes I can count, a sixth one for good measure), I can see myself lounging around on one of Ashanti Design's super large beanbags this Summer, if I manage to get in there before my kids, that is.

Happy Colour My Monday!

Inspiration: Do Design

I seem to have been collecting lots of little houses recently, on my blog, on pinterest and facebook too. No wonder then, that I was immediately drawn to this house-within-a-house inside Lucia Ruiz-Rivas' beautiful concept store, Do Design in Madrid.

Bringing together an ever-changing mix of fashion, interior design and artwork from emerging and well-established artists and creatives, this bright and airy space looks like my ideal shopping experience. I love the high ceilings, the vintage rustic furniture, the light, open, relaxed feel of the place, and of course, I'm sure the shop is full to the brim with beautiful, unusual finds - sigh!

My kinda concept store - if only ...
