Miss Kickcan Is My Name

Just in case you're wondering where an earth I am...
It's half-term here in the south of France, and we are all enjoying a two-week break at home.
The weather is glorious, almost summer-like some days.
You can see what we're up to on Instagram.

Georges, Oh Georges!

Georges, oh Georges...
Ever since I saw your new collection I've been dreaming of tipees in the garden. And our living room.
OK, I know Miles turns 9 in a couple of weeks, but I'm a great believer in Morris' "beautiful and useful" in the home. Beautiful, they are. Handdyed in soft inviting shades, made with love, stitch by stitch, I know I could find a use for them too...

Then there's "coeur", a poetical hanging storage nest crafted from vintage linen, and "esté", perfect bedding and rugs in grey. Or those cushions, Jonnie. And that wall hanging... need I say more?

George's new e-shop is everything I love.

Time to treat myself? Mmm...

Shop Watch: Le Petit Florilège

I was going to give Le Petit Florilège a big High Five, but goodness me, how can I choose just five pics? Many of my French readers will already be familiar with Florence's inspiring interior design blog and now we have a gorgeous shop to tempt us too!

Yesterday Gudy posted her February Moodboard, full of pastel pinks, whites and greens, I love that colour combination. - Voilà my thread for this pretty new boutique.

As these few images hopefully show, Le Petit Florilège offers a handpicked selection of one-off French vintage finds, stationery, homeware and limited series decorative items, all beautifully styled and photographed. I love these prints and wool names in particular.

Definitely one to bookmark if you're a Francophile and are on the look out for something fresh, unique and stylish!

Un vrai coup de coeur!

Inspiration: Cute In Colour

Hey, I'm back! Are you still there? I do hope so!

After a wonderful, sunny weekend spent at the flea market, and pottering at home in the garden, I feel the urge to spring clean and rearrange the house. The birds are singing and the trees are a-blossoming - our village is starting to look so pretty. You can follow me on instagram now you know, if you're interested in snippets of our life in the South of France.

Of course, spring gives us an opportunity to welcome new fresh colours into the home, so I'd like to start the week with some cute finds for children's rooms. Sigh! My three kids seem to have grown up so quickly (Dylan is 18 in one month's time!) but I do hope some of you out there will be inspired to find out a little more about these links.

Bonne semaine  - Enjoy!

Thanks for the inspiration:

High Five #85

Gosh, this week is flying past!
It's time to share some of my recent faves from five inspiring websites.
You may have already seen a couple of them, but, as always, I like these round-up posts to be an invitation to explore. I don't know about you, but I seem to have so little time these days to read blogs.
I hope you'll enjoy discovering or catching up with a few thanks to my posts!

Thanks for the inspiration:
Paapje - I love these beautiful blankets, made from handpainted silk and vegetable dyed wool - stunning! (photography: Lara van der Krift)
Cocon - I've been blogging for almost 5 years now and Cocon will always be a favorite I think. Love this nono bag, along with everything else!
Oh Albatross - What a cute little vintage tin toy tea set for young and old alike!
Elina Dahl - I like giraffes, and Elina's print can now be customized with kids' names - fun!
Varpunen - Ah, well, of course I love it all, especailly mainio clothing and vv - love those cat prints!

Shop Watch: Ni(D)

I don't know, maybe it's me,but after a while, when you spend so much time on line blogging, facebooking,  tumbling, tweeting and pinning, things suddenly start to look a bit "sameish". You know what I mean?

I always go out of my way to look for original finds, so today I'm going to share a few examples of Christelle Galinier's poetical work. I've written about this French interior designer's beautiful, vibrant cushions before, obviously, but I'm pleased to say that they still stand out from the crowd.

Ni(d) offers a small,  ever-changing selection of limited-series cushions, dream catchers and banners, all perfect for adding a touch of colour to a kid's room.. I am in love with those bright greens and blues in her latest Jardin D'Hiver and WWW collections, even though those are not my favourite colour palettes.

One to keep an eye on if you like unique, well-made decorative items for your home, or perhaps even for your shop?
