The Simple Things

The simple things,
Those are the ones that make my heart sing.

I have so many inspiring links to share after my two-month break.
Here are just a few examples of the beauty I love to explore:

Stuart Cairns -  this artist really makes me want to open my eyes, "faff" and be creative.
OmaOmaOpaOpa - an Ukrainian etsy store selling amazing textiles and unusual vintage finds.
Frau Klarer - because I never tire of concrete.
Wabi-Sabi Lithuania is my latest tumblr crush.

C'est beau, non ?

Inspiration: Balance Restored

Hello September!

I know, I'm late, half-intentionally.

Summer was good, really good in fact.

Loyal readers near and far, I really needed a break.

Like many of you, I have been online for a long time, and this spring I started to feel pretty apathetic about blogging because I guess I was in a rut.  Social networks are forever changing and many of us have decided to switch to instagram and pinterest for an instant fix of visual inspiration. I like this blog, I'm proud of it, and I don't want to just share images all day long. In June I came to the conclusion that I had been doing too much, writing for other sites, working on my shop, pinning, tweeting, tumbling, IGing, FBing, ello-ing... the list goes on. It was definitely time to hit the pause button, hence the sporadic, virtually non-existent posts.

So, we went on holiday. I spent two wonderful months with my family and friends. I went home, back to my roots, visited London, reconnected with my "old self" and enjoyed "being" offline.

I've made a few important decisions about my future.
It's good to have a new sense of direction.
I've found my bearings,
restored some balance

Ahhh
ça fait du bien !

On Coming Home

Well, bonjour !
I'm back!

It's been a while. A whole three weeks in fact.
I've been travelling and unwinding with family and friends, you see.
Life has been good, and I have been making the most of every single moment in the sun.

Here and Now, remember!

It's a long Bank Holiday weekend in France and also party time in our village.
I'll be celebrating my 49th birthday (!) on Sunday too, so I doubt I'll be online much until Monday. Have a great weekend, wherever you are!

Inspiration: Pause

Hi!

It's a long weekend here in France as we will be celebrating Bastille Day on Tuesday.
The French certainly know how to make the best of their Bank Holidays!

We're chilling out at home by the pool, enjoying the southern slow life every day.
It's a welcome pause for Dominique my husband whose counting the days until we go on holiday to the UK on the 22nd.

Hope you're all having a fabulous weekend with family and friends.

à bientôt !

Hi There!

It's been a while, end of school year activities oblige.
The storm before the calm for once.

July has been bliss so far.

I hope you are enjoying every second too!
