Breekwater - Yeah!

Hurray!

If you're an avid reader of Babiekins, you will probably recognise the bottom photograph that I included in my picks in the last issue. You see, I knew what the folks at Breekwater were up to this Summer but things take time, n'est-ce pas, and they weren't quite ready then.

If you hop over there now you will quickly see that this was a shop well worth waiting for. It shouldn't take you long to realise who's behind it too ... he! he!

Give Me Three #87

It was fairly busy in Montpellier yesterday. There's a big Christmas market on Place de La Comédie with lots of different stalls. It was pretty cold so we treated ourselves to some hot churros. Savannah was over the moon because she found 1.20 EUR on the floor and put it in her new little handbag. We walked on a bit. Within half an hour she'd spent up, she gave all of it to a freezing middle-aged woman sat on the floor with a sign saying "I'm ashamed but I'm hungry".

Times are hard, all over the planet.
Christmas is all about giving, isn't it?

Ah! Freak Out!

Le Freak, C'est Chic...

Sorry about that, but I did grow up in the 70's!

Some wierd & wonderful finds for a wild Saturday evening:

Susie Chaney's limited edition artist's Circus book (do have a look!)
Linnosaurus - Love that Ibsen Print!

Give Me Three #86

I'm in a rush but after coming across this in Poland yesterday, I just had to post a few pictures from Susan Bisovsky's Pret-à-Porter Dowry Collection. So hard to choose just three. As far as I can see, the photos are by Wolfgang Zajc and Peter Olschinsky / Verena Weiss.  Obviously not everyone's cup of tea, but oh my, those patterns, colours and shapes... A wonderful find, thank you!

Shop Watch: Mint Print

This morning I reluctantly but diligently wrapped my children's teachers' Christmas presents in Miriam Trent's beautiful screenprinted tree-patterned paper. I say reluctantly because I was hoping to keep it all for myself to frame.

I met Miriam when I was in Ilkley in October. She was selling at a local craft fair and as I follow her blog and twitter feed I stopped to say hello. It's so nice to meet virtual acquantances for real. Miriam was just packing her stall away when I arrived, however, I did get chance to buy my wrap and to admire these wonderful handpulled monoprints. I love art,  print and colour, and yet you won't find a lot of it in our neutral, pared down home.

I was very tempted to buy one of Miriam's fruit prints, and that hasn't happened for a long time. Believe me, they are beautiful.
