Inspiration: Village Green

I'm still here!
I've been busy catching up with paper work and preparing shop orders (thank you!).
And, of course, the weather has been so lovely the last couple of days, it's hard not to want to enjoy our wild, and slightly overgrown garden.

I woke up early this morning and walked round the house, bowl of French coffee in hand. Such beautiful light and shadows first thing (the first photo here is actually of the reflection in our pool!)

I think this is probably the best time of the year here, everything's so green and alive. Soon the sun will come and scorch this Southern land.

I'm still walking round the village twice a day, as well as walking back and fro from school with the kids. I'm on a health drive and loving how I feel.

If only I had a bit of extra money to buy this property that has just come on the market. It's just down the lane and brimming with oldworldly charm - sigh!

Voilà, some local news from the sunny south.

à bientôt !

How Green Is My Valley #2

I am sorry. I have been struggling with internet access here and blogger wouldn't let me upload any photos these past few days. Everything seems to be back to normal now, and yes, we are having a wonderful time here in West Yorkshire!

One more day left before we go back to France.

Salut !

I'm back in West Yorkshire for a week's holiday, enjoying some British sunshine with my kids. I'll be popping in here and pinterest whenever I can.
Enjoy the long Bank Holiday weekend!

Shop Watch: Pala Mino

Gosh, I never thought I could get so excited about a row of pom-poms!

And yes, those bows and braids, those stars and stripes have me a-quivering with delight...

I guess it's got something to do with my theatrical background, all those years spent treading the boards.

Freelance costume maker Louise Coughlan has produced items for the likes of the magical Giffords Circus, Downtown Abbey, Upstairs Downstairs, Shakepeare's Globe and The Welsh National Opera. She clearly has a wonderful talent for marrying beautiful fabrics, patterns and colours, and has decided to put her rich personal collection of material and trims to good use.

Louise's small label Pala Mino produces high-quality, handcrafted, one-off garments for children inspired by the desire for little ones to dress up and role play without restriction. I am smitten with every item I've seen so far - looks like I've found myself a new favourite!

Pala Mino is also on pinterest, facebook, tumblr and twitter if you'd like to follow Louise's work more closely.

Thanks for the lovely tip Lou Archell!

Oh là ! , a day, a weekend, of non-stop drizzle.
Et ça continue...
I just want to crawl back to bed
and hibernate.

Thanks for the inspiration:
