Peepshow

Ladies and Gentlemen
Chrissie Macdonald

"Peepshow is a multi-disciplinary collective focusing on illustration, animation and art direction".
It was founded in 2000 by graduates of the University of Brighton to facilitate self promotion, share clients and collaborate.

Peepshow is Luke Best, Jenny Bowers, Miles Donovan, Chrissie Macdonald, Pete Mellor, Marie O’Connor, Andrew Rae, Elliot Thoburn, Lucy Vigrass and Spencer Wilson. Have a good look at their illustration and animation portfolio and you'll know exactly why I'm feeling so enthusiastic about their individual and collective work.

Boasting an impressive list of clients, Peepshow has gone from strength to strength since its creation, working extensively in illustration, advertising, art direction, moving image, set design, mixed media installation and fashion and textile design. It has initiated a number of exhibitions, installations and events and was recently invited to take part in Pick Me Up, the first contemporary graphic art fair in the UK, held at Somerset House in London, which is how I discovered its work.

Pick Me Up provided an opportunity for Peepshow members to exhibit some of their new work individually, such as these "circles" and "squares" silkscreen prints by Jenny Bowers

and this reduction woodcut, "Together and Apart" by Luke Best, and was also a chance to collaborate through a print workshop .

The idea was to allow visitors to select their own blocks and make their own one-off prints.
Just look at some of the woodcuts that were created

Peepshow has its own online shop where you'll find a selection of works ranging from original artwork to jewellry and bags. It's definitely worth bookmarking for unusual quality gifts. I especially liked these two card sets by Luke Best and Spencer Wilson, respectively.
