Give Me Three #46

The Redstone Press have done it again!

It's way too early to be thinking about Christmas presents (or is it?) but from my experience, Will Hobson's Household Box, promising to add drama, imagination and romance to any home, will make an excellent gift for your family and friends.

The Artist's World

It's no secret, I'm a huge fan of Redstone Press. I've featured quite a few of their publications on Kickcan & Conkers over the past year and am forever impressed by the quality and originality of their work.  Following the tremendous success of their Russian Children's Books Diary, by my side as I type, Redstone's has just released The Artist's World, which I'm sure a lot of you will be interested in.

The Artist's World brings together a collection of remarkable photographs and revealing texts providing insight into the creative worlds of Louise Bourgeois, Georges Braque, Paul Klee, Vincent van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, René Magritte, Kazimir Malevich, Henri Matisse, Claude Monet, Kurt Schwitters, Varvara Stepanova and many others.
Need I say more? A perfect Christmas gift for you and your loved ones, available here.

Redstone Press has teamed up with Magma to produce seven wonderful Masters of Early Russian Children's Books prints, based on some of the 1920s and '30s illustrations reproduced in the Redstone Press 2010 diary, which I have and love and featured here.

Play Box

Beautiful children's illustrations by Russian painter and illustrator Tatiana Glebova (1900-1985) taken from this wonderful, hitherto unpublished book of hidden images

found in this superb Play Box edited by Julian Rothenstein at Redstone Press.

I'm thrilled to bits with my Russian Diary for 2010 and couldn't resist this marvellous collection for my children. Redstone's Play Box would make an excellent gift for Christmas. It's chock-full of unusual word games, optical illusions, hold-to-light images, cards, puzzles, flick books and so much more. A perfect present for rainy days, long winter nights and festive family gatherings. No TV, no computers, just good old-fashioned play that won't break the bank. Hurray!
