Happiness #3

My sister is back from her second trip to The Revival Centre in Uganda.
I think these pictures speak for themselves.
She spent a lot of time with Tobito, the little boy she has sponsored, and plans to return, help similar structures and set up her own charity to help children across the country - I will keep you informed.
Happy Sunday!

Happiness #2

It may not be the best quality photo but it's my image of the day.

My sister is in Uganda again doing voluntary work in an orphanage.

Rachel's been preparing for this second visit for months, getting together art materials to do painting and crafting with the kids. She's been working in the nursery today. Looks like her paints arrived safely...

Happiness is helping others
And yes, life can begin at forty!

Shades of Grey

 I like grey
The various shades of grey
I like simple things, with a past, marked by time
I like handmade objects, natural finds, creativity
I like paper, wood, cement, linen and rust
I believe very strongly in those three magic words : Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

No wonder then that I like the second issue of Nuno Magazine, inspired by Shades of Grey.

Nuno brings you 125 ad-free pages of craft, sewing and knitting projects made entirely from recycled, upcycled and salvaged materials. You can preview 20 pages, including four complete projects, here.
I obviously love the Kokeshi Finger Puppets and Whale, but am equally impressed by the egg carton wall display.

Elisabeth Abernathy Graham, Rachel Abernathy Braff and Royce Graham have done a fine job. The entire issue can be yours for $5 and Nuno will be donating $1 per copy sold between now and 31st January 2011 to a goat bank in Uganda run by ADRA. Another initiative I support for personal reasons.

Our Children

It's Earth Day today, time to reflect and act for our planet and it's people.

I'd like to take this opportunity to show you a few photos from sister's recent trip to Uganda, where she was working as a volunteer in an orphanage.
