Searching For Summer

I spotted one of these hopeful British sunbathers on Flora Jamieson's pinterest board yesterday and thought the pair of them were rather special. I seem to be drawn to simplicity at the moment.

If you pay a visit to One Sugar Hill's Folksy shop and blog you may also be surprised by her quirky oil and acrylic work. I never seem to be able to resist a good circus.

Etsy Finds: S is for Ship

We're hoping to nip to the beach tomorrow morning for a coffee by the harbour and a good ole rummage at the flea market. It all depends on the weather. I have started collecting old Savon de Marseille, I love it when they shrink and darken with age. I'll also be looking out for old mirrors, I'd really like to make a feature wall in the bathroom with them. What are you into at the moment, anything in particular?
I've just added a couple of things from Daily Memorandum, it's a beautiful shop, I  like to 'pop in' there from time to time. I thought these vintage educational cards and primitive  ships would work well in a boy's room, what do you think?
Have a lovely Sunday!

By The Window

It's 5am
The house is asleep
A quiet time for me

The break was good
Going to the beach
Building castles in the air

Reality beckons now
The garden, awake
Paint peels, shutters, doors, walls begging to be fresh

A thousand ideas
A rummage of vintage, to sort, to place
Mood boards, sketches, torn paper from magazines

Ready for spring, to clean the nest
Pare down,
Renew

Drawn to my favourites
Simplicity, white and wood by a window
Forever and toujours
