Shop Watch: Nonah

French children's furniture maker NONAH is enjoying a lot of back-to-school press coverage at the moment and it's easy to see why.

Alerce Stackable Toy Boxes

Made in Latvia from FSC-certified solid beech wood and coloured with ecological paints, NONAH's designs are smart, modular and fun.

I love the little hole and hide-away-space on the Zinda chair,

the versatility of their storage solutions

and IKIPI, which my little Miles would play with for hours.

My tastes are changing a little I think; I set out looking for some vintage kids' furniture to share and ended up showing you this. Definitely one I will be following from now on !

Fler Find

I really like the look of this toy castle set.
It's exactly the kind of toy my son Miles loves to play with.

Found via Fler, the Czech equivalent to etsy.

Vintage Wooden Abstract Blocks
Sorry, I had a busy day yesterday (Bank Holiday in France) so it's going to have to be a "Colour My Tuesday" this week.
Hope you find inspiration in this bright and cheerful collection of vintage wooden toys and beautiful collages by Brighton-based Eleanor Rudge. Enjoy!

P.S. A special Hello to Maisie, my latest, nine-year old follower - Maisie you made my day!

For the Love of Kay

As much as I love this rare 1957 Kay Bojesen Rabbit that I found at The Sunday Times Market, I very much doubt that I'll ever be able to afford it. I suppose I shall just have to take solace in this amazing collection of Kay candy.

Hugdetta

A nice cup of coffee and a piece of toast will do me fine, thanks. I can't say I fancy sheep's head first thing in a morning, or at any time of day for that matter (I'm a veggie you see). However, I do like the look of these 2D (TViVi) toys designed by Icelandic studio Hugdetta.
Roshildur Jonsottir and Snaebjorn Por Stefansson like the simplicity of plywood. They recently used it to decorate the walls at a children's rehabilitation centre

and have designed this multifunctional, stackable, four-piece set called Jon's Stool which can be used as a chair, a table, a train, a boat, a plane... Looks fun!

PlayShapes

They've done it again! Following the huge success of their award-winning ShapeMaker product, Brighton-based design team Zoe Miller and David Goodman ( a.k.a. MillerGoodman ) have just launched their new wooden toy PlayShapes. This modular set of 74 geometric rubberwood shapes can be endlessly arranged, stacked or used as drawing templates, and comes in a printed, unbleached cotton drawstring bag with illustrations. I love the touch of colour and simple design and can see myself, sorry, can see my children, playing with this toy for hours. PlayShapes will be available from MillerGoodman's shop and select stores from mid-November.
