Give Me Three #39

COLORATURO

VILLETTA

TINTE
Yes, It's Colour My Monday and time to share these wonderful building blocks by art educator and toy designer Karen Hewitt, founder of Learning Materials Workshop. John Meyers was lucky enough to find this set at a flea market a while ago and I was really curious to know where they came from. Thanks to pinterest, I was able to identify "Tinte" and learn about the Reggio Emilia Approch to pre-school education.

Take your time looking at the LMW site, Karen Hewitt's designs will appeal to artlovers and kids alike. I think some of you will also be interested in her blog focused on creativity, art and learning through play.
I, for one, will be following from now on...

Voyage, Voyage

We'll be on our way to The Alps in a few hours and I can't wait. I don't think that I'll be posting much over the next few days so I hope you all have a good week.

I'd like to leave you with these beautiful photos by Sarah Bridgland. I've been following her blog and Flickr streams for a while now (she was actually one of the first artists I wrote about on K&C) and particularly enjoy her travel photos. Sarah is working on some new wooden collages, which I love and find very inspiring.

Open your eyes and look around - colours, shapes and textures everywhere.
C'est la vie, and it's here and now.

Bonne semaine et à bientôt !

Colour My Monday #23

Bonjour!

I thought we'd kick off with some colour from La Petite Camargue this week
It's party time here in the South of France, all our local villages are bedecked with handpainted banners and flags ready for the Fête Votive (which often involves the traditional bull race through the village). The decorations in Aigues-Vives (above), made by school children and local artists, are always worth seeing.

Happy Monday!

Fresh Talent: Makiko

She loves coffee, my absolute favourite

And then there's her artdolls, a passion of mine.

I don't know very much about Makiko but I really like what I see.
She's incredibly prolific with a great eye for detail, an inherited talent it seems
(I featured one of her mum's ooak dolls & wardrobe here)
I love her use of colour and the styling of her puppets in particular.

I hope you'lll take the time to browse her Flickr photostream
and visit her Etsy and Dwanda shops, bursting with creativity.

A happy find, I'm smiling!

Ripolin Domino Game

Ellen Van de Sande has a great eye for vintage things, I 've mentioned her blog before.
I really love this Ripolin Domino game she picked up at a flea market.
Simple and colourful - my vintage find of the day!

Colour My Chores

Hey, Zoé, you're a genius!
It takes an awful lot to get me excited about daily chores...
There's no doubt about it, cooking, washing and shopping never looked so appealing!
Guess I'll have to ask Mr B. to buy me one of your brand new kitchen, laundry room or shops to make and display.

Clever, colourful and fun - for little and big kids alike...
Zoé de Las Cases is full of surprises.
