How Now!

Gosh, the weeks just fly by!
I've been super busy collecting vintage finds and brand new products for the Kickcan & Conkers shop, so keep your eyes on my little boutique this weekend.

As you know, I love papercraft and I endeavour to source unusual manual activities for kids. I'd like share two new items by Morse Editions, whose work I love.

I've just hit 1,000 followers in Facebook this week and have decided to give away a little something over there to celebrate.

Good luck and have a great weekend!

Le Macchinine

Pleasing to parents' eyes too, in this case.

Italian graphic /brand design studio Le Macchinine has got it right!

Flavio Ruotolo's bright and playful children's textile range is a wonderful addition to her already solid design portfolio (remember those kitchen stickers I photographed on the Vogue Bambini stand at Playtime Paris?). Made from Oekotex Fair Trade cotton and silkscreened by hand with love in Italy, Le Macchinine's high-quality T-shirts, sweat shirts, backpacks and cushions are striking, fun and excellent value for money.

For modern boys and modern mums with modern tastes - love!

Three Wise Men

Okay, this is my first official pre-Christmas post, despite the glorious Indian Summer we're enjoying in the South of France at the moment.

I have a soft spot for Allistair Burt's Russian dolls, remember, so I had to share his latest design, specially commissioned by Folksy for their exclusive Christmas Collection.
My other favourites include Jane Foster's Angel decoration and this Three Kings paper craft set.

Right, back to Summer / Autumn now  - Ho! Ho! Ho!

High Five #45

Quirky, colourful and fun!
The Red Cheeks Factory is a new discovery for me..

Thank you Nelleke Verhoeff for making me smile
And yes,
I hope you

Have a nice day!

Babiekins Print Issue #1 Giveaway

I'm sure many of you will have heard the news by now. The first print issue of Babiekins Magazine has hit the newsstands in the States and is selling fast by all accounts.

I have contributed to the online mag since it's inception and am delighted to have been asked to work on the print edition too. Look out for My Little Finds amongst the 128 pages of beautiful photography, interviews, must-haves and colouring pages for kids, it really does sound like there's something for everyone.

I have yet to receive my copy, so I'm as impatient as you! You can find the bi-annual print magazine in all Barnes & Noble stores, Stater Bros and Books a Million, if you live in the States. Alternatively, check out the Babiekins Magazine etsy shop, and the online boutiques: Lapin & Me, Supersoniko and darthurazoe.

If you have a copy, Babiekins is running a photo contest on facebook. All you have to do is post a photo of your child reading the newprint magazine on their wall. A number of prizes are being offered over there and the most creative entry will be rewarded with the chance to be included in issue #2 ( see details on the Babiekins Facebook page).

The Babiekins team are also offering ONE lucky K&C reader the chance to win a copy of the first print magazine.

If you'd like a chance to win Babiekins Print Issue #1
1) Leave me a comment below (making sure to leave me an email address)
2) Spread the news via twitter, facebook or any other means and you will get two names in the hatI (let me know please!)

Studio Legohead

Best known for her pretty pugs and feisty felines, Bath-based textile artist and illustrator Jo Chambers has a gift for mixing patterns and colours. Canine lovers won't be able to resist her richly adorned prints and custom portraits, and I for one enjoy her felt-pen and mixed media floral doodles - so perfect for uplifting the spirits on a miserable, overcast day like today
