Emily Warren

I know very little about Brighton-based illustrator and maker Emily Warren but her beautiful paper mâché animal sculptures caught my eye the other day and I'm smitten. I think she deserves to be pushed into the limelight. Emily has an MA from St Martins and loves drawing and making things from rubbish. Her creatures look lovely grouped together and that bunny and rabbit would be perfect in a child's room. Emily is happy to take commissions...
You can see other examples of her work at the Stealthy Rabbit and also browse her illustration blog here.
Enjoy!

Adam Howling

I discovered lots of new artists, illustrators and crafters while I was in England last week.
I bought a card by Adam Howling, a freelance illustrator working for clients in the UK and abroad. Adam is represented in the U.K. by Eye Candy. I love his use of colour, sense of humour and the retro feel in his work.
Have a look at his portfolio and tell me what you think.

Toy Horse Travels

"Being an object that doesn't change or move, my challenge is to create a different, thoughtful scene every day"

Cassia Beck of Lola's Room, Cassia Rose and Violet May fame (see previous post) played with a toy horse when she was a child.

She has decided to photograph it every day for a year and is hoping to make her collection into a book. You can follow the project on her horse blog and buy prints of her daily images from her etsy store Lola's Room.

Enjoy!

O Comely

oh comely is a magazine about people and their quirks and their creativity, rather than money and what it can buy

I picked up a copy (issue 2) when I was in England and I love it.

You can take out a subscription or buy issue 1 here.
