Etsy Finds: The New Creative Art Book

I'm always on the look out for nursery rhyme illustrations and love the simplicity of this interpretation of Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks and The Three Bears.

It's been a while since I've found anything vintage and frame-worthy on etsy but these pages from The New Creative Art Book (1937) fit the bill for me.

I particularly like this large page of health posters costing $3.50 and would love to flick through the entire resouce book for art teachers, which I believe was written by Bess Eleanor Foster.

Onwards and Upwards

Well, hello there!
I'd like you to meet Monsieur et Madame Optimiste, just one of my many discoveries over at Poppytalk Handmade's new affordable art market. It's raining and grey here today so I'm desperate for some sunny fun.
Happy Monday - The only way is up!

Salut ! Salut !

Bewildered Tales

I love Kay Van Bellen's work (you may remember this?), so I was so pleased to see her getting the attention she deserves in Small Magazine last year.
Kay recently opened an online shop selling her beautiful Bewildered Tales art, screenprints, badges, stationary and this gorgeous tea towel.
Go have a gander and treat yourself to a little  something, I bet it will be the start of a very nice, affordable art collection...

Dans Ma Vieille Bagnole

I bought one for Dylan for his birthday earlier this year and we all love it. If you're looking for original Christmas gift ideas for the big and little men in your life, or if you're a nostalgic Francophile at heart, these three stylish posters Made in France will brighten up any room. Be quick to leave a message though if you're interested, ces petites voitures are hugely popular and disappear before you have time to say Jacques Robinson.

Etsy Finds - Stig Lindberg

I don't normally post anything other than my Five Faves on a Sunday but it's raining and everyone's having an afternoon nap after our trip to the ice-rink this morning.Yawn!
I thought I'd nip in quickly and show you these two fun illustrations that I found on etsy yesterday. Taken from a vintage Swedish children's book called "ABC" by  Stig Lindberg and Britt G. Hallqvist (1953), I think these two pages would look great framed in a children's room, regardless of whether or not you understand Swedish. You may have noticed that I have a weak spot for circuses, and I like vintage finds and foreign languages, so...

ABC-as Easy as 1-2-3

Simply beautiful!
Lucie Pritchard's screen printed fabric Alphabet and Number cards would look lovely grouped together in a nursery, don't you think?

Oh, Oh, It's Space-O!

I love the graphics on these vintage Space-O cards.
I bought a set for Miles last year.
Perfect for framing, don't you think?
Going, going, gone...
