Everybody is Different

I'd love to look through UWE graduate's Bett Norris's Alphabet Book - Everybody is different.
Take a peek at her children's story book project 'Nigel's Party'  and the rest of her illustration portfolio here. Bristol-based Norris is interested in commissions and work experience and sells some of her prints on etsy
One to watch out for, me thinks.

Nice Things From a Nice Place

Latvieshu Alphabet

Firecross

Liibieshu Alphabet

The Sun

Latgalieshu Alphabet

The Moon

I really like this postcard range printed on recycled paper and designed by Latvian company Nice Things.
Did you know that there are three official languages in Latvia? I think these three alphabet cards would look striking together in a frame, as would a selection of traditional Latvian patterns.
Nice Things' products are only available in Latvia for the moment, but they do intend to open an online shop.
Send them an email if you'd like to buy something.

And if you haven't already explored this link, now's the time to do so!

Paul Thurlby

Happy Monday Morning! Don't these look great? UK-based freelance illustrator Paul Thurlby has created these fabulous Alphabet prints with a strong retro feel. Check out his Alphabet shop where he is currently offering 3 of his signed and numbered limited edition prints for the price of 2. Some fantastic designs and colour combinations here (found via delicious industries). Love the distressed look too. Any favourites? I'm betting on the Owl, the Dog, The Underground, The Rabbit, Pretty...

Etsy find

I love books, especially vintage ones. I've been really drawn to the simple, bold graphics of the 60s of late, buying puzzles by Galt and games by Fernand Nathan, for example.

Etsy is treasure trove of vintage ephemera. I came across this Hebrew Alphabet Book by Avi Margalit (1968) in Ricracandbuttons' wonderful store (packed full of vintage books, toys, kitchen and sewing stuff). Margalit's colourful illustrations are just perfect, too beautiful not to share. Enjoy!
