Today,

Was a special day, kind of.

Woke up to scorching sun,

The garden parched, already.

Had planned a girls' day out

Just down the road, in Nîmes.

Busy, hot and festive,

It never disappoints.

And, as always, I am moved by this monument,

So old,

So imposing,

And with so many stories to tell.

Well, I did promise you sunshine galore, I'm in the South of France after all!

Can you resist these wonderful vintage French spelling prints? I have a few in black and white but they're even better in colour and reasonably priced too.

It's grey and wet here today. Such a difference from yesterday.

I thought it would be a good opportunity to show you some colourful artwork from a beautiful book I picked up at Emmaus last year. "Au grand soleil de la vie"(Editions La Noria et CEL, 1977) is a collection of drawings by French school children about the sun, the wind and clouds. When I have time I'll scan a few more images and put them on Flickr.

Where's the sunshine?

Woke up this morning and it's gone.
