Magical woodcut illustrations from Keizaburo Tejima's Swan Sky (1983, Japan). Available here (French) and here (English). Will has piqued my curiosity, this looks like a hidden gem.
Lovely. My daughter's just started learning to play the Swan music from Swan Lake on the piano and it makes me stop whatever I'm doing and listen withe 'goose' bumps every time... they are magical indeed :) K
Magical is the right word! It reminds me of those fun kids art days - painting black over wax and scratching to reveal the colour underneath
ReplyDeleteyes, très magique "Le vol du cigne!"

ReplyDeleteIt does look like a hidden gem, and reminds me for some reason of Hans Christian Andersen's The Wild Swans.
