Today #12

We nipped in quickly to Montpellier this afternoon
And I felt quite excited.
Wouldn't it be nice if my sister came to visit soon -
Just for a few days
Oh yes!
It would...

On a fait un saut à Montpellier cet après-midi?
J'étais assez excitée.
Ce serait vraiment chouette si ma soeur venait nous rendre visite bientôt
Juste pour quelques jours
Oh ça oui !

Les Boules

My Image of The Day

Miles and Dominique have been playing pétanque
It's a hard life here in the South of France...

Une petite partie de pétanque entre Miles et son papa
On travaille dur ici dans le sud...

Through The Round Window

It's a shame I couldn't go inside the wash house in our village to get a closer look at Laure Essinger's "Argonautes" installation yesterday (and a shame that I broke my new camera before Christmas...).

If you look closely in the second photo you'll see chalk drawings done by Savannah's school last week. Our village may be small and quiet at times but it's full of artists and wonderful, creative people, hence our decision to move here two years ago.

Beau Travail

Have you found a calendar for 2011?
If you haven't and you're looking for something fresh and contemporary,  why not add a touch of French chic to your life and order this beautiful, reasonably priced, calendrier from Parisian studio Beau Travail?
Illustrated by Céline Saby, Delphine Dunoyer, Hélène Georget and Rachel Péloquin, this bright and cheerful collective work will keep you smiling all year round and brush up your French into the bargain.  Qu'est-ce qu'on peut demander de plus ?

A Collector's Dream

We are very lucky to have Pierre and Andrée as our neighbours. Miles and Savannah love playing and helping out in their huge garden and I love looking at all the bits and pieces they have accumulated over the years.

Down to the Chapel

We walked down to the chapel tonight
In search of rosemary and lavender from the garrigue

The chapel's just down the lane, we go there often
Tonight there was a gentle breeze, and we took our time
Nature was busy

When we arrived the door was open, for the first time

We peeked inside

Heaven!

Back again tomorrow I think
...with a picnic!
