Fresh Talent: HisoHiso

After almost five years online I think the thing I still enjoy the most is discovering fresh talent.

Weiwei Cao Persson and Ida Elisabt Liffner are the Swedish design duo behind HisoHiso, a brand new creative project focused on making illustrations for storytelling and play.

Both of the designers are currently studying for an MA in Child Culture Design at HDK in Gothenburg, and have just completed their first year.

Their recent work includes this beautiful hideaway, designed to be a personal place in a public place.Weiwei and Ida imagine this little den in waiting rooms, at the doctor's or dentist's, in an unknown space where children may feel discomfort and not in control.

They are working on an online shop, which will hopefully be up and running by the end of the summer.

Make sure you follow their Facebook page and website
to catch all their latest developments.

I have a feeling we will be hearing a lot more from these talented young ladies soon!

Love!

Thinking Inside The Box

Cecilia Afonso Esteves and Micaela Marinelli have been working on something new for your little ones.  Montañas y lagos is a simple but beautiful, limited-edition (100 numbered)  DIY mobile kit that would go perfectly in a natural nursery or minimal young child's room. Keep an eye on their Facebook page, pinterest and website for availability, this boxed, handmade set is way to special to miss!

Talking of boxes, or packages in this case, I am delighted to introduce you to the inspiring world of French artisan / interior stylist Katia Soussan from Kat's Creation

I'm smitten! Oui, un vrai coup de foudre for her creative skills. Spend some time browsing her website or instagram feed, and you'll soon realise that Katia is multi-talented, passionate and bursting with ideas and imagination!

So, what's so special? Well, Katia is a ceramicist, she gives new life to vintage furniture, draws, paints, sews, curates and adds her personal graphic touch to everything she makes with a handful of magical fairy dust.

I think what I love most is her scenography AND her fabulous idea of selling her "ready to use" décor. I don't know about you, but I often comes across amazing styling for kids' rooms on the web and I just don't have the time to look for similar products. Katia offers décor in a package - the furniture, decorative items, textiles, etc, all handmade and sold together by theme. Love!

I guess thinking inside the box can be inspiring too!

Mercredi Moodboard #5

Bonjour!

The heat is on!
Suddenly everyone's sporting healthy tans, walking around in tees, shorts, flip flops, and smiling!
I LOVE SUMMER!
I'm not going to bore you with our painting and decorating at home, but let's just say, work is underway...

I'm in the mood for a holiday home more than ever, and these few photos of Madrid in Love's shop Caravan (found here and here) are perfect.

I'm sure there's no need to introduce Madrid in Love, renowned the world wide web over for their amazing pop-up stores. They've given their website a makeover since I last visited, and I was pleased to see a small Collection of beautiful vintage wares online.
Simple and distressed, exactly the way we like it - the theme of this week's moodboard.

Madrid In Love also rent out a gorgeous space for workshops, creative meetings and photo shoots.

Those white brick walls look so inviting, and way cooler than it is here!

Bonne journée !

Slowly Does It

I used to tell people that I was a city girl. I still am, kind of.
I feel lucky to live in such a beautiful place, so fortunate to be able to slow down and appreciating the simple pleasures of life. Really!

It's been another long Bank Holiday weekend here. The last for a while. We haven't done anything out of the ordinary, just pottered at home, sunbathed, worked on the garden and made plans for our home. La vie en famille quoi. And that's fine for me...

I hope you enjoy these few favourite links:

Shop Watch: Orn Hansen

Maybe I'm wrong, but it feels like I'm the last person on earth to discover Long Beach-based general store Orn Hansen. My apologies if you've read about this inspiring space before! Having said that, you can never have too much of a good thing, and this tastefully-curated mix of US handmade and vintage apparel, accessories and homewares looks very moorish to me. I will definitely be keeping an eye on their selection of minimal, stylish jewelry.

If you're short on inspiration for Father's Day, check out their online store. We already have an idea for "papa"  so I'll be following them daily on instagram and pinterest (love!).

See you there!

Super Finds From SuperJuju

I've just started dipping into my new sponsor's lovely online store, and couldn't resist sharing these wooden postcards. I miss receiving a good old-fashioned letter through the post, don't you? These beautifully illustrated postcards are suitable for all occasions and are obviously perfect for display in a child's room. What about kiddies' party goodie bags too?

SuperJuju is full of arty, colourful gems like this, I'll be back with more soon I'm sure!

Inspiration: Patricia Larsen

Bonjour !

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. It was a long bank holiday here in France and I think it's finally Summer. We have been working on our house, trying to make it as welcoming as possible for friends and family who will be visiting us soon. There's still so much to do, so I hope you don't mind if I post a few renovation images from time to time...

Last week I repinned an image that opened up a whole new inspiring world for me.
I'm sure many of you will already be acquainted with Patricia Larsen's paintings and ceramic work. I could watch her video over and over, it struck a chord with me - made me want to get out my art stuff again and experiment. One day soon, I hope.

Patricia Larsen lives in Mexico, and her home is everything I love. It's simple, neutral and chock full of interesting, carefully-chosen finds with a story to tell, I imagine.
A home with a beautiful soul.

Patricia's pinterest boards are equally as inspiring. Take a look at her studio in the baja, her two talented daughters' work and shop. Then watch her video.
I'm sure you'll understand.

Enjoy!
