 Well Hello Friday!

It's super sunny here today and my kids are playing outside in the garden with what seems like half the neighbourhood! I love Autumn days like this, cold and misty in the morning and bright and crisp in the afternoon. It's perfect weather for long walks in the woods, raking the leaves in the garden and curling up with a blanket, a good book and a coffee on the balcony. Ha! sounds like a plan,  I've got my weekend sorted then!

French school children are on half-term break right now, so it's been a bit slow round here this week. I've been busy elsewhere though, pinning, tumbling and blogging here and here. You can't keep me away from the web for long!

In keeping with the new simpler look of Kickcan & Conkers, I'd like to share some of my favourite "secret board" finds. I have lots, as you can imagine, but this collection of beautiful neutrals caught my eye in particular.

Calming, interesting, inspiring, I hope.

Bonjour !

It's Colour My Monday today, and although I seem to have toned things down quite a lot since I first started blogging five years ago, I still love to see pops of colour in the kids' design world.

I was looking through all the images on my Graphically Yours pinboard over the weekend and was amazed at how many things I had collected. Are you following me over there yet?

Inspiration: Down to Details

 

 Bonjour !

We're decorating on a budget at home, particularly this year as our eldest son is in private higher education. Dom and I are fine with that though, as we both love flea markets, charity shops and the local municipal skip! Bargain-hunting has always been our thing, and I think it's key to the making of a truly creative home.

We all know that it's the little details that count. 

The poetic, personal touch that makes all the difference.

I love the natural look, with lots of wood, so here are some interesting details that caught my eye recently. Do you have a favourite?

I'm not sure why but I always presume that everyone knows about

I guess it's because I live in France, speak French, and the owner is one of my online friends.

Anyway, let's forget about the language aspect - wood has a universal appeal, I'd say.

As you can see, Mister Wood offers a delightful selection of handmade wooden items for you and your little ones.

From shelves to pocket doll's houses and photo display blocks, the items are simple, modern and fresh. Every space is prettier with a few flowers, don't you think?
