C'est Flou

One of the things I often notice at blogger conferences is how surprised people are when I say I love black & white. I realise this is because of my colourful, quirky blog, but K&C is only a small part of who I am. There was a lot of talk at The Hive about the image bloggers convey, the dichotomy between the real and virtual, être et paraître, I think it's very interesting and I always love to meet the person behind the blog.

Just for the record, I'm a simple soul who loves and needs a neutral, creative interior. How happy was I to stay at The Michel Berger Hotel in Berlin last week - heaven!

What a busy month May has been. I seem to have been on the go for weeks, travelling twice to the UK then on to Berlin for The Hive conference. As much as I enjoy a change of scenery, it's nice to be home, especially now that the school year is almost over and the sun has decided to come out.

A week off blogging has done me the world of good. I needed time to reflect, time to take stock of all I have accomplished over the past four years, and to really think about what I want to do next. That's healthy and positive, I think.

So, rested and refreshed, I'm home. Back in our small, arty village in the South of France, where everything seems so lush. I have a fresh eye, and I'm eager to share the million and one beautiful things I am lucky to see each day.

I've got lots of new ideas, a few side projects to explore and Summer is hopefully here at last. La vie est belle - oh yeah!

B for Berlin

Back to the Betahaus, back to Berlin!
I'm on my way to attend and speak at the

I can't wait to stay at the Michel Berger hotel, catch up with my blogging friends, make new acquaintances and, and, and, be INSPIRED!

That's what blogging's all about, isn't it?

Playing With Nature

Look, we're playing with nature, Savannah's planted some wild thyme for the bathroom.
Andreja's been making beautiful clouds for her boys' room, Justine's been printing with leaves, and I just love this idea of painting and framing pressed flowers!

Snippets

How much of your home / family life should you share online?
I am still working on my speech for The Hive Conference next week and thinking about my public image. I think my blog genuinely reflects who I am, well, part of me at least. I also share lots of other snippets of our daily life on Facebook and pinterest to complete the picture.

I am a simple girl at heart, and the end of the day I will always be drawn to natural basics.  I guess that's why I'm pleased to share this link to This Is Paper's new shop.

Love!

Trace Ta Route

Trace ta route.
Make your way.
Leave a mark.
Change directions.
Don't look back.
En avant...

I'm working on my speech for The Hive Bloggers' Conference in Berlin next weekend and thinking about how much blogging has changed my life. Kickcan and Conkers has also evolved over the past four years (already!). I'm not sure where it'll be heading in the future, but, oh my, what a journey it has been so far!

Thank you for the inspiration:

A Modern Menagerie

I joined etsy recently and I'm really enjoying it.
I've always used this site as an online resource, and thought I knew it pretty well...
until I looked a little closer.
Every day I'm amazed by the sheer number of talented artists, makers and designers out there.

Thanks for the modern nursery art inspiration:

Just Because

Just because
I'd hate you to miss all these fun DIYs that I featured on Handmade Charlotte yesterday.
I included one in my post but you can find all the others on De Rien Madame's blog.
They're in French but switch on a translation tool and you'll be fine!
