Colour at Club Oceanus

Maia C. Larkin is one very talented lady. An illustrator and a journalist, you will have seen her work in a number of kids' magazines and kids' shops, or perhaps admired and bought one of her tees, prints or dolls from her own etsy stores Les Voyageurs and Club Oceanus.

Maia's latest OOAK soft sculptures are bright, eye-catching and fun. Handdrawn and handpainted, these circus and sea creatures are custom-made and are sure to delight little and big ones alike. Love!

High Five #48

A huge High Five for Stacy Rajab's abstract modern linocuts.
I love just about everything in her etsy store Retro Modern Art.
Make sure you check out her typography prints, this is a favourite.

 Simple, striking and fun!

Thoroughly Modern Modules

Hey Poupée, you gotta move with the times.
Live in a pod, or two  or three, sip cocktails on the deck and crash out in style.
If you can afford it

Inspiration: Midnight Blue

Atelier Charivari has long been a favourite address of mine. Specialising in vintage French furniture from the 50-70's, their products always look impeccable and often sell within a few days.

Once again, this small business owes a great deal of its success online to its beautiful, clean styling, Today I am drawn to their deep midnight blue backdrop. It's not a colour I would usually go for, but I really love how it offsets the gold accessories and honey-coloured furniture in these shots.
An interesting combo that seems to work well with this French industrial look.

Shop Watch: Joinery

A place where " all good things come together", the Brooklyn-based bricks-and-mortar store sells a beautifully curated collection of menswear, womenswear, homeware, vintage items and textiles, showcasing both international and local designers' work.

I am pleased to see Kim Baise's extraordinary mobiles among their online picks, and really love the subtle colour palette of their gorgeous range of handdyed textiles made in Brazil.

Joinery is a place where all kinds of good things come together. It’s a collage of whimsy and restraint, an ode to vintage and a nod to experimentation, a mixture of the familiar with the exotic. A thing that finds its way into our shop is special. Whether it’s made of wood or cloth, whether it was found in our neighborhood or on a trip, we sell it because we admire its craftsmanship, respect its quality, appreciate its uniqueness, and the idea of it makes us happ

Blueprint

At last, it's the weekend, time to unwind!
The last few days have been trying and I'm ready for some rest.
French schools broke up for two weeks today so it'll be nice to slip into a slower, more relaxed routine.
We have no definite plans, just to potter, to decorate, to work on the house...
How about you? Anything special on the cards?

Thanks for the inspiration:
