Yes Georges!

Gosh, I bet you wonder where an earth I've been!

May is almost over and, as usual, we were spoilt with deliciously long Bank Holiday weekends, it's been bliss. It's pretty much Summertime here in the South, and slow life has become a necessity...

I've been doing a lot of thinking, a lot of sorting and have made a few important decisions about my future online. It feels good. I'm ready for a change after six years, so watch this space over the coming months, if you'd like to follow me on my new journey.

Of course, I've also been busy seeking treasures to share with you on K&C.

Do you remember my post about Mylène Scotto's beautiful, beautiful online shop Georges last year? Well, she's exactly the kind of person I want to continue to write about and hopefully promote, albeit on my modest small-scale.

Do yourself a favour this weekend. Georges-Me reopened its virtual doors this morning and there are so many simple, very special things I'd love to buy for myself, our home or friends and family (please don't be put off by the French, use any online translator)
Mylène will be adding new lines in June so make sure you bookmark her inspiring website.

Handmade, handdyed, handsculpted
raw, honest and poetic

Georges-Me is so me - I bet you love it too!

Errer

Errer,
J'erre, tu erreras...

I've been wandering again.

Instagram is my favourite source of inspiration right now, taking me around the world and up to heaven and back pretty much on a daily basis.

A few weeks ago I came across an interesting gallery called errer_m. It was hard not to 'like' every single photo. I seem to be drawn to Japanese creatives these days, especially those using French vintage finds in their work.

Obviously, having lived in France for almost 30 years I am used to seeing beautiful antique objects. I love scouring flea markets and car boot sales for new treasures to add to our home. Simple things with a soul.

These few images are taken from errer_m's online shop. Everything is styled so poetically. You will find more pictures of their bricksandmortar space on instagram and in their journal (use an online translator). Needless to say, I would just love to pay them a visit.

To wander
I wander, you will wander...

Monday Moodboard: Still Blue

Time for this week's moodboard inspiration.

I've working on a "real" collection of images at home at the moment because I really need to start dabbling in art again. I love colour, patterns and textures, as you know, so it's great to be able to play around on paper as well as on screen.
Watch this space!

I'm still very much into blue, as you can see. I seem to wear nothing but faded jeans, cutoffs and white linen t-shirts at the moment, which suits me fine!
Clean, simple and casual - perfect for life out here in the country.

I hope you enjoy today's links - be curious, go find out more, and get inspired!

Inspiration: My White Obsession

Bonjour tout le monde!

I know I've said this before but May in France is wonderful.
There are Bank Holidays galore, usually meaning long weekends for all.
It gives everyone the chance to wind down and get used to the hot weather here in the south.

We've been busy working on the house - our ongoing renovation project.
As you can see from the basement photo above, we love white minimalist interiors.
I've been ruthless lately, throwing and giving away so much unnecessary "stuff" accumulated over the years, and it feels fantastic!

I feel free again
It's a blank page
I'm starting afresh.

Monday Moodboard: Cool, Calm and Collected

Smile,
It's Monday!

 And
Despite our staycation and the heat,
I haven't forgotten this week's moodboard.

Cool, calm and collected

Staying Put

Ha!
Stay Put.
If you 'really' knew me, you would know that it's almost impossible.
I'm a live wire, as busy as a bee, there's always something I have to do.

I try to walk 10 km every day, because I love being outside, in and around our little village. I run, I cycle. This long weekend was no exception.

Of course, as I'm on instagram, I often take my phone, or my camera, as well as my eyes. I love how the same scenery changes every day - a new shadow, a new ray of sunshine, a new path to explore in the woods. We really get to experience the changing seasons living in the country.

We didn't go away this weekend, we stayed put. We went to all our usual places, to the flea, to the fruit and veg market, to a car boot sale, for a long evening walk round the village. Busy doing nothing special.

Dominique's on holiday this week so if it's a little quieter here, you know where I'll be,

Just staying put, and loving every minute of it.

Bonne semaine!

High Five #90: The Warehouse at Woodside

I know it's almost Summer, and we've been blessed with beautiful weather for a while now here in the South of France but I am craving dark, arty-vintage interiors right now.

Instagram takes me travelling on a daily basis, and I am enjoying discovering creatives across the globe. In Australia, I happened upon the inspiring feed of vintage shop owner Sarah Pollard whose bricks and mortar store is overflowing with my kind of old and interesting finds. I'm really into her mostly dark product styling on instagram and would obviously love to fly Down Under for a good ole' rummage - sigh!

Sarah shares photos and details of her wares on Facebook, so feel free to contact her if there's anything you fancy.

Gooday to you folks!

Monday Moodboard - Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Should I stay
Or should I go?
A good question!!!

Sit down, stop running around and reflect awhile

Time to move forward,
But in which direction?

I think that pretty much sums up how I feel right now...

Bonjour!

I hope you all enjoyed the long Bank Holiday weekend.
I feel like we've been away after our three-day break, don't you?
May always flies by in France. It's full of days-off, school starts to wind down about and the sun usually decides to stay. It's probably one of my favourite months in fact.

I am asking myself all sorts of questions about blogging, being online, and my virtual persona right now. Hence today's moodboard. I think it's positive, taking stock.

The majority of today's images come from tumblr blog Plumes & Feathers but as you will see I also curate on etsy. I love it there!

Have a great week folks x
