Shop Watch: Mamabu

Time for a bit of colour and fun on the Kickcan & Conkers blog!

It's been a while since I came across an Eastern European shop as inspiring as Mamabu.
Offering a varied selection of kids' fashion, décor, books and toys, all made by upandcoming Polish brands, I'm pretty sure you'll find something new here. I love their wooden toys, soft toys and cardboard playkits in particular (so very K&C, don't you think?), all very reasonably priced.

The Mamabu site is in Polish but any online translation tool will do the trick. Send them an email if there's anything you fancy. The Mamabu team speak English and I'm sure they'd be happy to hear from international readers, customers or even potential buyers...

Bonnes Nouvelles !

Well, I have three good things to tell you!

First of all, if you are following me on instagram or facebook, you'll know what a fabulous time we had on holiday in the Alps. We love going there each year and barring a couple of days the weather was glorious. Just perfect for swimming in turquoise lakes at the foot of the Mont Blanc!

My second piece of good news is about pinterest. I know a lot of you are already pinning with me but, one again, I'd like to say a huge thank you for your support! I have somehow managed to hit the 140,000 mark, and I am amazed at the sheer number of people who follow me there.

Last but not least - It's time for a summer sale in the Kickcan & Conkers shop! For one week only you can enjoy a 45% reduction on the entire shop using the discount code "SUMMER14'. French sales end of 29th of July - so hurry, hurry mes amis!

What a great start to the week!!!

Fresh

Qu'est-ce que ça fait du bien !
Every year we escape to the Alps for a complete change of scenery.
Far away from the Mediterranean, our beloved garrigue and the incessant song of the cicada.
Mmm, fresh, green and ever-so relaxing - We love it here too.

Bonne semaine !

Triptych Thursday

Two more days until we go on holiday and the skies are grey and cloudy here in the south of France. The weather forecast isn't looking very promising for next week in the Alps so I guess we'll be packing woolly jumpers, warm socks and the like (en juillet, vraiment ???).

Yes, I'm craving some sun today, dreaming of long walks on the beach and that beautiful glow of a late summer's evening.

A hueg thank you to these etsy sellers for the inspiration!

Basically

Bonjour!

I hope you had a great weekend. I have to admit I spent much of mine watching the Tour de France, wishing I was back home in Yorkshire with my family and friends.

Our kids have all broken up for the grandes vacances, and we're counting the days until we go to the Alps. Sport, sport and more sport are on the agenda, so we may need another holiday when we return!

As you know,I've been busy working on our house.
I'll always have time to share a few favourites though.
Here's a small selection of beautiful finds that came across my radar last week.

I am definitely in a 'less is more' phase of my life now!

Every Picture Tells A Story #12

If you're not following me on pinterest, facebook, tumblr or twitter you may be wondering where an earth I am...

Kickcan and Conkers turned five last weekend, five wonderful years of blogging, sharing and hopefully inspiring.

I've been at home, trying to get a few big decorating jobs finished before friends arrive next week. I have worked hard on K + C over the past five years, and intend to continue to do so for another five at least. However, I also have a family and big house to renovate.

Sorry for the silence, I just needed to concentrate a little more on my real life. OK?
