W is for Wicker

Oh là, it feels like Summer here in the South of France.
Time to bring out the garden furniture and enjoy some sun.

It's also the start of the flea market / car boot sale season -  les puces / les vide-greniers - and if you're up early and have a keen eye you'd be surprised at the number of bargain treasures to be found, vraiment !

One thing I've noticed recently is wicker, it's everywhere, 60's and 70's pieces, pulled out of attics and cellars, dusted down, cleaned, restored and jazzed up with a few bright, often crocheted accessories.

Of course, not everyone has the time or the chance to scour flea markets, so if you're into the wicker / bamboo look for you and your children, check out shops like Wintersmoon  in the UK, Les Petits Bohèmes in France, and surtout Little Vintage, where you will find an impressive selection of kids' furniture and accessories in pristine condition.

Amusez-vous bien !
