Feeling Fruity

photo: Sophie Helsted

Bored with potato printing? Why not take a tip from Filippa apples, pepper and even fennel (she swears it makes great beetles!)?

You could also use Jackson Lam's ABCDEFruit and Vegetable book to inspire you.
Printed using actual fruits and vegetables, each page contains an "A is for Apple" line and a fruit stamp print corresponding to each letter of the alphabet. Some of the pages have been left blank for your little ones to print in. A lovely birthday gift to bear in mind.

Kiyoshi Saito

Children Shoveling Snow. Color woodblock

Kiyoshi Saito (1907-1997)

I've fallen in love with these wonderful woodcuts by Kiyoshi Saito, a Japanese artist/printmaker associated with the Sosaku hanga (creative prints) movement.

Un grand coup de foudre pour ce travail de Kiyoshi Saito, un artiste japonais de l'école Sosaku hanga.
