Lovely Larousse

Illustration: S.E. Bagge, 1969

Do you like Savannah's vintage French / English dictionary?
We found it at Emmaus last year.
I think the front cover would make a super poster, being half French/English and all...

My image of the day.

Sunshine

It's grey and wet here today. Such a difference from yesterday.
I thought it would be a good opportunity to show you some colourful artwork from a beautiful book I picked up at Emmaus last year. "Au grand soleil de la vie"(Editions La Noria et CEL, 1977) is a collection of drawings by French school children about the sun, the wind and clouds. When I have time I'll scan a few more images and put them on Flickr.

Come Join the Party!

Le Cheval Bleu, illustrated by Lucile Butel, 1963

Laura has just celebrated her first anniversary over at the animalarium.
I've found a few four-legged friends to join in the birthday fun.
Go say Hi from me, she has one of the most inspiring blogs I've ever come across, and she's also giving away this beautiful book by Sebastiano Ranchetti.

It's been a while since I blogged about vintage books so I thought I'd show you some of the wonderful illustrations I've seen recently at Stopping Off Place, a new Canadian address*that I love and found thanks to Will. Another gem to add to your daily reads!
