Fresh Talent: Victoria Whincup

I'd like you to meet Sally, she has a shrew sitting on her head

Ann has a fox on hers but she doesn't mind

They have lots of nice friends
and come from a special place
where pretty flowers grow

Won't you follow me?

Such a joyous find when all is grim...

Freelance illustrator Victoria Whincup graduated from The Cambridge School of Art with a First Class Honours Degree. She draws, paints, sculpts, sews and makes beautiful little books. She sells her work on etsy and is available for commissions and collaborations. Keep an eye on her blog and Society6 for updates, Victoria is putting the finishing touches to some brand new sculptures (badgers!) and is working on an Alphabet book as well as a collection of illustrated poems.
A lovely delicate style - I'm sure she'll go far!

Malota

Oh dear, I'm a little bit slow on this one...Did you know that Mar Hernandez, a.k.a. Malota, had opened an online shop? I love this watercolour entitled Celeste.

Anna Emilia Laitinen

She loves drawing houses, be they big or small,

She loves trees, both inside and out

and all that she sees becomes pattern

"The weather gives the color to my paintings. When I paint I think of all the faraway places the wind reaches and hope to hear from them.
I enjoy finding connections between nature and the ones living in it, collecting them as memories on a soft cotton paper".

There is a rare sense of calm in the work of this Finnish graphic designer / illustrator. A peacefullness begot from her oneness with nature and an awareness and sensitivity to "colours, wind speed and sounds under (her) feet". I do hope you'll enjoy her paintings, drawings and Weather Diary as much as I did.
