A Partridge Pair and Two Turtle Loves

Tom Frost's hand screenprinted wooden bird puzzles are the perfect gift for a loved one at any time of the year but his new festive birds, Partridge Pair and Two Turtle Loves, are ideal for decorating your home at Christmas. I love Tom's prints and toys, he's one of my favourite British illustrators/crafters. Just look at this beautiful Christmas card he designed.

Colour My Tuesday

That's right, Tuesday's going to be terrific with a blast of colour from Mini-eco's bright and inspiring blog!
Like many of us, Kate wants her two sons to have a creative upbringing and to take pleasure in the simple things in life. She loves to make things and think up creative activities, which she generously shares on her blog, Mini-eco, a real treasure trove of craft tutorials and fun stuff to do with your kids. (remember her owl mobile I featured?). I imagine you've already made your Christmas decorations, but I'm sure you'll find something to entertain your children with during the festive holidays!
Colour, colour, colour!

Shop Watch: Varehuset

Varehuset looks to me to be a treasure trove, an Aladdin's cave, a Santa's grotto, chock-full of goodies for young and old alike. I just know I'd want to buy half of Leise Dich Abrahamsen's store. I'm obviously drawn to all her handmade one-of-a-kind accessories and new children's line Fra Leise, but just look this recent artwork she's auctioning here:

The good news for you and I is that Leise is working on an online shop and recently started another blog showcasing some of her new children's designs to keep us going for a while. That means you can buy gems like this

and, wait for it...

Christmas decorations like that in a click!

Fabulous, n'est-ce pas?

Owls and Squirrels

Perfect for your Christmas tree and for adding a touch of whimsy to your home all year round.

Little Cabins

These little cabins by Krys Kirkpatrick from Hutch Studio are some of the nicest Christmas decorations I have ever seen.
Made from a few old children's books (Mother Goose and a couple of Peter Rabbit books from the 1940's), some can be illuminated by a tea light and others have been strung together to make a garland or hanging strand mobile.

If you manage to buy one (quick, they're selling fast), I'm sure you'll be tempted to keep it on display all year round. Handmade, repurposed and fun, what a lovely, smart addition to your Christmas tree, child's room, nursery or studio space (c'mon, I know you're all big kids at heart!)

Happy Thoughts

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat
Yes, it'll be here before you can say Jack Robinson folks!
Why not have a go at making these paper reindeers and pocket advent calendar garlands with your children?
I'd quite like to see those bright paper fellows on display all year round, wouldn't you?

Winter Woodland Friends

I've had my eye on Karolin Schnoor's beautiful  Make Your Own Fox and Rabbit Cards for a while.
It feels like Winter here this morning so it seems like the right moment to point you in their direction.
A lovely card to send to a friend but also a great Christmas decoration, don't you think?
