Fresh Talent: Makiko

She loves coffee, my absolute favourite

And then there's her artdolls, a passion of mine.

I don't know very much about Makiko but I really like what I see.
She's incredibly prolific with a great eye for detail, an inherited talent it seems
(I featured one of her mum's ooak dolls & wardrobe here)
I love her use of colour and the styling of her puppets in particular.

I hope you'lll take the time to browse her Flickr photostream
and visit her Etsy and Dwanda shops, bursting with creativity.

A happy find, I'm smiling!

Mr and Mrs

Aren't these face brooches by Portuguese maker Cor de Mar wonderful?
Quirky, colourful and fun - love'em!

Abracadabra

I keep stumbling upon sweetness, hope you don't mind?
I came across Abracadabra's little brooches, pocket dolls and dashing men friends a couple of days ago and really like their faces and the designer's use of colour.
The shop is in French but you can pay online if you see anything that tickles your fancy.

Vicky Lindo

I love this new-to-me, hand-embroidered and appliquéd textile work by UK artist/designer/maker Vicky Lindo. Head over to her fun website (one of the nicest I've seen in a long time) and blog to discover more of her embroidery pieces and some wonderful quirky brooches and soft dogs going by the name of Cod.
