Earl, Ned & Norris

I've been sorting out boxes of baby clothes today ready for the next vide grenier in July... sigh!
If Miles was a little younger I would have been tempted to buy this lovely print by Nikkipea. I've featured her softies before, and still find them quite unique.
Her artwork would look very sweet in a nursery, don't you think?

Les Demoiselles D'Avignon

"Pick a famous painting, try to keep the structure but change the context" - Dylan's (14) latest school art project.
He chose Picasso's Les Demoiselles d'Avignon and came up with this last night using the graphics tablet we bought him for Christmas.
I love art. I love my children.

Now and Then #2

Ericailcane's book Potente di Fuoco made me smile last night. My three children are budding artists (or architects) and doodling, drawing and designing are part of our daily life (one of the most appreciable aspects of coming home for lunch between 12-2!). Dylan was particularly prolific when he was young, and like many a mum, I have kept a lot (boxes!) of his artwork.
Leonardo's parents obviously did the same thing, saving and storing until the day they decided to give him back  his first drawings and the idea for his book was born.

Potente di Fuoco is a collection of real and imaginary animals drawn in 1985 and 2009. The same creatures, the same artist, as a boy and a man. You can flick through it here.
It's an interesting idea, and one that you might like to keep in mind for your own kids, I know we certainly have enough material!

Children's artwork #2

I've started following a lovely blog called Rudi's drawings. This little boy's art reminds me so much of my eldest son's work at the same age, especially the monsters and dinosaurs. Dylan has always been a prolific artist. He draws very quickly and in great detail as these examples, all drawn at the age of 5, demonstrate.

Children's artwork

I love my children's artwork! Here's a very special picture drawn by Dylan when he was in "grande-section" (only five!). I think it's great - the first of many wonderful creations. Just look at those four fine fellows!
