Inspiration: It's Over

It's over.
I've come to say goodbye.
Don't look at me that way.
What we had was good.

I'm sorry I was rushed off my feet yesterday and didn't get chance to post my mercredi moodboard. So, let's call this one 'Thursday's Thoughts', OK?

I hope you'll join me there too.

Inspiration: Home Sweet Home

So, they've all gone back to school and college today.
Our house seems empty and quiet.
We enjoyed our half-term break though, even if we stayed at home.

Life is sweet here.
The sun's out, our garden's green,
and it really feels like Spring is just around the corner.

I can't wait, can you?

Mercredi Moodboard: Stand Up!

Come on,
Stand up,
Pull yourself together.
That's right,
Get a grip,
Hold your head up high.

I can't believe it's Wednesday already.
We're all on holiday at the moment enjoying home life and working in the garden.
I'll be popping in here again before the end of the week.

Mercredi Moodboard: One of Those Days

It is.
It's one of those days
when there's light, so much light.
Sun shining on everything,
every nook and cranny.

Ordinary becomes extraordinary

Inspiration: Field & Hedgerow

Bonjour !

The half-term Winter holidays have begun here in the South of France and I have to say we are all enjoying the slow life at home. As many of you know, we live in a big house which we've been renovating for years and are also lucky enough to have a lot of land. This all looks fantastic on the photos but requires a lot of work on our part, so some serious gardening is on the agenda for us over the next two weeks.

I love living here in the country now. The Camargue is truly beautiful at any time of year. I feel privileged to live in such an inspiring place, bathed in Mediterranean light - c'est tellement bon !!!

Of course, I grew up in another wonderful part of the world - West Yorkshire. Ilkley Moor is "my home, mon chez moi, and I can't wait to return there this Summer.

Why am I telling you this, you wonder? Well, I have started working on a new project, which I hope will bring my two worlds together. It's exciting, motivating and I am learning so much!

Recent research lead me to the beautiful creative world of Field & Hedgerow
Stef Mitchell's work explores an ongoing relationship with the landscape on foot and her prints are made using plant material directly. I love the simplicity, the textures and the colour palettes of her handmade prints, cards and keepsake books, a few of which are shown above.
I guess they all remind me of walks on Ilkley Moor.

I hope you'll enjoy browsing her shop, blog and facebook page to discover more.

Bonne journée mes amis !

Mercredi Moodboard: Ice Cold Baby

Oh baby, it's cold outside!

The South of France is covered in snow, a rare occurence chez nous
I can barely walk my kids to school, I've got so many layers on (come rain or shine, I'm renowned for hardly ever wearing a coat. But I had one on today!).

Luckily for us it's Wednesday, stay at home day for French school kids.

Two more days to go until half-term.

More snow would be nice then!

Inspiration: Out of The Blue

All of a sudden,
Out of the blue,
Came this urge
To do something different,
Explore pastures new...

Bonjour !

I hope you all had an excellent weekend.
We seemed to eat, sleep and breathe art for two days, which I love.

My eldest son is doing an art foundation course in Montpellier this year, and I have to say it's really inspiring to see how his work, style and interests are evolving.

I am itching to do something more creative now. Start painting again, perhaps, make collages, doodle, work on our home... I used to do so much before I started blogging!

Any plans to learn a new craft or creative skill this year?
I fancy macramé, I think.
Et vous ?

I hope you enjoy today's art inspiration.
I love these artists' work
