Monday Moodboard: Home Sweet Home

Bonjour !

Monday is a great day for making some important decisions!

I woke up this morning and decided it was high time we finished renovating our house,
so that's what I'm going to do.
Wherever I look there are things to be painted, sanded, fixed, refreshed ...
and I can't stand living like this anymore.

In a couple of weeks all three of my children will have broken up for the very long summer holidays. I can't wait.

I'm in a 'doing' mood, and we're going to work a bit and play a lot in the garden, at the beach and in the UK! Enfin !

What are your plans for the Summer?

Are you going anywhere nice, or have you decided to stay at

Home Sweet Home?

Let It Rain!

Oh oui,
Let it rain,
encore et encore...

I got soaked this morning and it was wonderful!
It's been so hot here the past few days, I could barely think let alone move.

I'm looking forward to a showery weekend, and so are our olive trees and garden!

Monday Moodboard - Still Now

Oscillating
That's right.
Swinging moods
Swaying thoughts
Fluctuating desires
Differing from one day to the next.

Strong yet fragile
taking time to reflect
Need to blow away those black clouds overhead.

Bonjour!
I hope you all had a great weekend.
As predicted, we have been enjoying an early June heatwave in France, so we barely left the pool and garden. I love these slow, sultry hot summer days but for once I'm ready for a storm...

Life is good here right now, and after poring over the latest issue of Côte Sud Magazine this weekend, I am feeling enthusiastic about renovating our house.
Ideally, we'd like to start letting it out next year, or perhaps do a house swap, we'll see.

I hope you enjoy browsing this week's favourite links,
I love Maria Queen Maria!

It's Pool Time!

Envie de fraicheur, de nager longtemps, jour et nuit.
Il fait chaud,
terriblement chaud,
Et j'adore ça.

Oh my, I love it here when it's hot!
I am looking forward to spending this weekend by the pool.
I'm going to induldge in some proper magazine reading (about time too) starting with this little gem that arrived last week. Polish is good, it's different, inspiring, out of my comfort zone, I need that right now.

I've also treated myself to the latest issue of In Clover and have a couple of other new publications bookmarked for this Summer. Any more suggestions?

Talking of treats, I may spoil myself for my birthday.
I love Frieda's Mellema's artwork and styling, all of it.

I have a soft spot for textiles and her latest series of prints on fabric based on a group of collages called "Le Ciel Peut Attendre" is fresh, modern and poetical.

The prints measure approximately 36 x 37 cm and cost 15 EUR each + postage/packing.

Send Frieda an email if you're interested in buying anything ( but leave a few for me!!!), and give yourself 10 minutes to browse her beautiful site.

Is very special.

Lupin Love

Hello June!

If I close my eyes
to recall our never-ending summer holidays growing up in the seventies
I can picture all the

Lupins

Skipping, cats-cradle, rounders
dens made with sheets
jam sandwiches for tea

and Lupins.

I love Lupins

Thanks for the inspiration:

Yes Georges!

Gosh, I bet you wonder where an earth I've been!

May is almost over and, as usual, we were spoilt with deliciously long Bank Holiday weekends, it's been bliss. It's pretty much Summertime here in the South, and slow life has become a necessity...

I've been doing a lot of thinking, a lot of sorting and have made a few important decisions about my future online. It feels good. I'm ready for a change after six years, so watch this space over the coming months, if you'd like to follow me on my new journey.

Of course, I've also been busy seeking treasures to share with you on K&C.

Do you remember my post about Mylène Scotto's beautiful, beautiful online shop Georges last year? Well, she's exactly the kind of person I want to continue to write about and hopefully promote, albeit on my modest small-scale.

Do yourself a favour this weekend. Georges-Me reopened its virtual doors this morning and there are so many simple, very special things I'd love to buy for myself, our home or friends and family (please don't be put off by the French, use any online translator)
Mylène will be adding new lines in June so make sure you bookmark her inspiring website.

Handmade, handdyed, handsculpted
raw, honest and poetic

Georges-Me is so me - I bet you love it too!

Errer

Errer,
J'erre, tu erreras...

I've been wandering again.

Instagram is my favourite source of inspiration right now, taking me around the world and up to heaven and back pretty much on a daily basis.

A few weeks ago I came across an interesting gallery called errer_m. It was hard not to 'like' every single photo. I seem to be drawn to Japanese creatives these days, especially those using French vintage finds in their work.

Obviously, having lived in France for almost 30 years I am used to seeing beautiful antique objects. I love scouring flea markets and car boot sales for new treasures to add to our home. Simple things with a soul.

These few images are taken from errer_m's online shop. Everything is styled so poetically. You will find more pictures of their bricksandmortar space on instagram and in their journal (use an online translator). Needless to say, I would just love to pay them a visit.

To wander
I wander, you will wander...
