B for Baby Buba

Inspired by children's drawings, Maria Dziewolska 's Baby Buba Family sure look fun.
Bright, bulbous and bouncy, these colourful multisensory creatures come in different sizes and models (frog, bunny, worm and frog).
Definitely modern and colourful, for design-conscious parents and design-led shops - love!

Shop Watch: Old & Cold

Old & Cold?

I don't think so.
I can already feel the warmth these three vintage Danish designer lamps would add to our white & grey minimalist home.

Old & Cold, another fine etsy shop to add to my bookmarks.

G for Gorgeous gg

My heart skipped a beat when I stumbled upon this beautiful shop this morning.
What a shame that they don't appear to ship outside of Japan (at least that's what I understood using Google Translate...).

Neat virtual shelves full of original, beautiful products for kids and your home.
I had a hard time choosing just a few photos to share, so do take the time to browse the shop, it really is quite special. I would love to buy some of those paper shirts and these postcards, (so if anyone finds out out that they do sell abroad, please let me know!)

Inspiring eye-candy for my 46th birthday. As I've just said to my Facebook friends, 'tis true, you're only as old as you feel...

Looking at these poetic onomatopeia mobiles, children's paper shirt kits (designed here), animal cards (by Azami Mushi), handmade dolls, postcards and paper frames, I'm a child  again, or still, or perhaps there's a part of me that never really grew up! Hope so!

Cool Copper

I'm guessing that many of you will have seen this beautiful sneak-peek from Bodie & Fou's AW12 mail order catalogue, styled by Karine Kong and photographed by François Kong.

The talented team at Bodie & Fou always get it right (remember?), inspiring us through the seasons (their SS12 catalogue is available here) and always bang on trend.  I love the new mustard-coloured duvet cover recently added to their linen bedding range, which certainly makes a welcome change to grey, and look-forward to seeing their collection of mini copper lights available in September.

I've never really been a great lover of copper but it's starting to grow on me. in fact, now I can see myself adding a few stylish vintage kitchen accessories to our home in time. It certainly does marry well with wood and white, both of which are omnipresent chez nous.

I don't recall seeing a lot of copper in French flea markets, but maybe that's because I wasn't really looking. Etsy is full of beautiful finds for all budgets, however, as these few photos show.

What do you think? Are you inspired by the copper trend?
Will you be adding copper touches to your home this Autumn too?

Trzy Myszy Take Two

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Polish design for kids, especially eco-toys made from paper or cardboard.
I first mentioned Trsy Myszy's shop last year and am delighted to discover four new additions to their collection of sturdy, sustainable cardboard toys. Little ones can now play with a cooker, cupboard, washing machine and cradle, all in contemporary colours perfect for the modern eco-home.

Love!
