Etsy Find - Counting

I keep stumbling on this illustration from a 1950's children's book.
I'm sure it would look lovely framed.

Souvenir, Souvenir

A few of you may remember me writing about this giraffe art in May. Indu works at the Mumbai Mobile Creches Centre, making art and objects from very little (children's books made from cotton silk tree seedpods - beautiful!). One of her latest projects is souvenir art, combining memories with memorabilia. Toll tickets to Gokul were her inspiration for this dancing couple. She's also come up with a lovely bus.
I thought this was a nice idea for the Summer holidays. Indu will gladly create a collage for you if you drop her line, or why not collect tickets, photos, timetables, shells, dried flowers, etc and let your children make one of their own. I'm sure Indu and her little art students would love to see your photos!

Sushipot

Susanna Scott sells some bright, quirky mixed media assemblage and collage work in her fab etsy store Sushipot. You'll find jewelry, ornaments, collages and wooden decorations made from all kinds of ephemera in this little treasure trove of a shop. I love her little wooden plaques made from vintage children's illustrations hand-stitched together. They would make wonderful Christmas decorations, to hang on the tree or display around the house, and would be equally as striking grouped on a nursery wall or in child's bedroom.

Take your pick!

I love paper goods. I like to buy original notesets, notebooks, cards, travel journals, calendars and exercise books. I also have boxes and boxes of vintage bits and pieces that I save for the right occasion, the right present, the right school project... I always find a use for torn wrapping paper, old postcards, gift bags and envelopes, it's the compulsive 'reuse, recycle, recreate' streak in me you see.
However, I now know that I am not alone. There are some very clever people out there making my paper hunting task easier. The only problem I have now is deciding which one to choose!
