Vintage Book Corner

Oxygen Keeps You Alive by Franklyn M. Branley
Illustrated by Don Madden, 1971
A Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science Book from my own collection.

  1. I love the colours in these illustrations ( that are as old as me!!)

  2. I love it too, love the colors combination.

  3. so lovely, I think my favorite is the spread of the plants

  4. Hi Deborah,
it's a fun book, thank you for sharing, it's fun to see how the 60's and 70's picture books were kind of keen on scientific topics (not that we don't have scientific-non fiction books now).. what I like is the way they were able to mix patterns and common life scenarios with science, we somehow lost something along the way...
Maybe you would enjoy the Yummy Fresh Grain Feed Blog: almost all posts are about vintage books. Cris

  5. Great book. I don't quite understand why but it's made me feel very happy :)) Thanks Deb. Kx
