A Slice of Life

The Simplicity of Wood and the Complexity of Nature

Chop, slice, saw
Putting it back together
Takes a little bit more

A beautiful way of making children (and adults) aware of the irregularities, colours, textures and concise forms and lines in nature.

I  really like these Holz puzzles by Thomas Schnur Product Design
(A collaboration between Thomas Schnur, Paul Bellila and the French design label USIN-e)

  1. At the Yorkshire Sculpture Park my children spent hours doing exactly this, with piles of slate, chopped wood and stones. Despite seven years difference in age, they were totally absorbed . . . wonderful.
